Welcome to my blog.
This forum is intended first and foremost to share some of the experiences I collect while in graduate school here in TAMU. I will mostly stay away from personal issues and try to focus as much as possible on professional advice and past experiences. In addition, some of my ideas about Polsci, and especially IR, research will be thrown here and there.
I hope to provide anyone who is interested in Polsci grad school with some useful tips and ideas. As an international grad student, there are some aspects of this process which are more unique and as such, I will try to provide some comments in this context as well.
Finally, I have a family and if you have some questions and looking for advice in that regard, I will share relevant information that I obtained when coming to the US with my wife and 2 boys as part of this PhD adventure.
One important announcement: the first set of blog posts will be dedicated to an idea I had been saving for few years. Back in Israel, one of the things that I needed the most as I deliberated the idea of applying for a graduate degree in the US, was some place where I can get relevant information that will help me with the decision about whether to apply? Where to? What does it mean to study for a doctorate in the US after getting my earlier degree in Israel? And much more. After I began the program here in Texas, I always hoped to find the time and write something that may help fellow Israelis who share such desire as well. Therefore, fellow Israeli gals and guys, these posts will be for you – I will describe my process from the early stages of deciding to apply, what I went through and some of the things that must be considered. As I direct these posts mostly for Israeli audience, I will write it in Hebrew. Following this small project, I will return to writing all posts in English.
Please, come visit once in a while, leave a comment (good or bad) and share with anyone you think that can maybe use my attempt in professing (much earlier than actually being a professor).
